Bowdon Bears mixed ability rugby is all about giving kids and young adults with learning or physical disabilities the opportunity to play rugby and perhaps more importantly it is about giving them access to the rugby community.
It is a chance for them to make new and possibly life-long friends and to become a part of that community experiencing all the fun and sense of achievement that comes from being involved in this wonderful game. We want everyone who joins us to become part of the fabric of Bowdon and to feel that it is a safe place for them to be.
There are no great aims for the sessions apart from fresh air, fun and friendship.
‘A huge thank you to Michael Billington from Hart Process Services for sponsoring The Bowdon Bears Mixed Ability rugby team. HPS have a commitment to benefit their local community which has allowed our expanding, amazing, group to get their first set of shirts and create that sense of belonging to a team. If anyone knows any kids with learning difficulties or special needs who would benefit from a controlled, fun, rugby environment in the Manchester/Cheshire area send over an email to Mike mixedabilityrugby@bowdonrufc.com’
