Details for booking onto this year’s England Rugby Coaching and Refereeing Award courses are outlined below.
The course format has evolved, there are now 2 face to face days and a series of monthly webinars. The webinars include a task to complete whilst you are coaching or refereeing your players that month, access to digital support resources and an invitation to join a community of practice where you’ll get support from England Rugby coach and referee developers and from other course participants.
The course format has evolved to enable the participants to practice what they have learned on the course in the context of their own coaching and refereeing environments, giving them more time to practice and develop their understanding of the topics.
Due to the pandemic the face to face days will take place at the end of the season (rather than day 1 at the start and day 2 at the end) and the webinars kick off in January.
We’d advise you to encourage coaches and referees to book now so they can complete the webinars each month, but the webinars will be on demand so those who book late can catch up.
The face to face days will run in each CB and booking for these will open in March. The course format and the booking process is on the pdfs below.

Once we have established numbers and geographical location of individuals interested in attending the face to face elements, we will begin to plan those days in using local rugby clubs as host venues. This will likely take place in the Spring, and I’ll share venue details once we have designed the delivery plan.
